Below are the results of the APWU National Election polls/survey we held starting September 26th for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Industrial Relations Director.  On September 30th we held a second election poll/survey that included the offices of Legislative/Political Director, Health Plan Director and Clerk Craft Director.

Jeane Gardiner a breath of fresh air for APWU financial transparency

Information is slow to get to the officers in the field and even slower to get to the individual member.  We support electing Jeane Gardiner.  This will most certainly bring a total audit of all APWU budgets, LM-2’s and the APWU Health Plan by outside auditors.  This is something we totally support.

Sam Wood gets results others can’t for the APWU

This is no secret Sam Wood dances to the beat of his own drummer.  Which may not be a good thing unless you can get consistently get positive results.  Sam gets results and sometimes it defies conventional wisdom.  But this is a good thing and Sam Wood is the perfect person to be the next Executive Vice President of the American Postal Workers Union.

As a right-wing friend who happens to be a soon retired member of the APWU used to tell me from time to time “socialism always leads to communism”. At the time when he would make those types of statements my thoughts were, he is an extremist and that can’t be right.

Times are brutal for postal workers. The membership deserves change from the status quo and Tony McKinnon is clearly the that change.
